Supervision for MSW Interns

Clinical Supervision for Masters of Social Work Interns

Not Accepting Interns at This Time

Salty Counseling periodically offers structured training experiences for Master of Social Work (MSW) students completing required field placement hours through an accredited graduate program.

Intern supervision is educational in nature and focused on clinical learning, professional development, and ethical practice within a trauma-informed framework.

While we are not accepting interns at this time, this page reflects the structure and values of our internship program when placements are available.

What Supervision at Salty Counseling Includes

Trauma-Informed Clinical Learning

Supervision emphasizes trauma-informed care, nervous-system awareness, case conceptualization, and foundational clinical skills appropriate to the intern level.

Consistent Educational Supervision

Interns receive structured, scheduled supervision focused on reflection, skill development, and integration of academic coursework into clinical practice.

Development of Professional Identity

Supervision supports interns in building professional boundaries, clinical presence, and confidence as emerging social workers.

Ethical & Professional Foundations

Supervision includes guidance on documentation, ethics, scope of practice, and professional responsibility within a supervised training environment.

Supervision Space Built for Growth

At Salty Counseling, supervision is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in respect.

You are not here to β€œprove yourself.”
You are here to learn, reflect, and grow into your professional role as a social worker.

What Supervisees Are Saying

"For the past year, Q has been my supervisor as I completed my MSW at the University of Utah. Her approach allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. Q fosters a supervisory relationship built on mutual respect, curiosity, and trust. She empowered me to find my voice and develop confidence in the field of clinical social work."
β€” Shay G., MSW Intern, 2021

"Q is warm, insightful, and incredibly validating. Her supervision helped me develop strong boundaries and become more assertive, not just professionally but personally. She challenged me to grow while always making me feel supported."
β€” J.W., MSW Intern, 2019
